I have been a fully dedicated independent furniture designer and fabricator since 1996. My interest in furniture design began while studying sculpture in college. I have found that creating furniture is a very satisfying way of blending my love of form with my disposition to build functional pieces. I work in many different materials, but most of my designs incorporate steel as the main structural component. I enjoy using steel because it allows me to create a strong and durable yet visually light piece. In addition, steel is an economical and responsible material to use for furniture production. I also enjoy working with non-traditional materials, and experimenting with new forms and techniques to push the boundaries of acceptable furniture design. I feel that good furniture design must combine elements of successful past designs, the designer's own personal interest and be a relevant object. This is what I try to accomplish with my designs, as well as create something unique and, hopefully, inspiring. |
