David Brunicardi
1962: Born - San Francisco, CA.
1969: Parents start to complain of nails in the driveway and paint
on the floor because "the boy is always building something".
1970: First trip to Disneyland - Tomorrowland's futuristic architecture
leaves indelible impression.
1971-Present: Continuous perusing of design/architecture magazines leads
to a lot of daydreaming.
1980: Graduates - Lincoln High School
1980: Stints as musician, chefıs apprentice, community college,
etc.
1987: Opens bar with high school friend. Due to lack of funds,
designs and renovates entire interior himself.
1990-1997: Sells bar - opens cafe in S.F.'s North Beach. Again, by neccesity,
responsible for design and construction of interior and fixtures. Starts making furniture
for cafe on roof of his apartment building.
1997-Present: Sells cafe and through the cajoling of friends starts making
furniture full-time. Forms e l e m e n t 107. His works
are based upon clean, modular, multi-purpose designs for urban lifestyles.
